Copper Thief Arrested. Recently, our Security Officers apprehended a thief during their patrol duties in Durban North. The suspect was discovered in possession of an angle grinder, a side cutter, and various pieces of copper piping. Upon interrogation, he admitted to unlawfully obtaining these items from one of our client's sites. He was handed over to the Durban North SAPS for further investigation.
Shoplifter Arrested.An Excellerate Security Officer responded to a request for
assistance from a Clothing Retailer in Durban. The Manager of the store
reported that a male customer had been repeatedly triggering the Sensormatic
alarm system each time he attempted to exit the store. Approaching the individual as he made another attempt to
exit the store, our officer requested to inspect the bag he was carrying. Upon
examination, the suspect was found to be in possession of unpaid items totalling
R759.90. Unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the items
in his possession, the suspect was apprehended and handed over to the SAPS for
further investigation.
4 Fraud Suspects Arrested. Last Friday, our Security Officers received an urgent phone call
from the manager of a bank in JHB seeking assistance. He reported that two male
individuals within the bank had attempted to commit fraud. Upon receiving this
information, our CCTV monitoring team promptly reviewed footage of the
suspects' arriving in two vehicles and then both entering the branch. Following their review, our officers successfully
apprehended the suspects and identified one of the vehicles they had arrived
in, parked within the premises parking lot. As our officers approached the
vehicle, the driver attempted to escape the at high speed. However, our team
managed to close all surrounding gates, preventing his escape. Approximately 45 minutes later, the
second vehicle was spotted in the parking lot. Our Officers were immediately
dispatched, resulting in the arrest of the driver. All four suspects were handed
over to the Sinoville SAPS for further investigation.
