  SUMMARY

Information received indicates planned demonstrations in several provinces on Monday, 17 November 2025, reportedly linked to members and supporters of the South Africa Inclusive Economy Indaba movement. The demonstrations are expected to focus on economic inclusion for South African citizens, as well as grievances regarding corruption, the weak Rand, and rising costs of living (fuel, electricity, and municipal rates).

A separate campaign, the “G20 Women’s Shutdown”, is scheduled for Friday, 21 November 2025, primarily as an online activism movement, but with limited reports of physical demonstrations at selected locations.

  DETAILS: G20 WOMEN’S SHUTDOWN – 21 NOVEMBER 2025

The G20 Women’s Shutdown campaign is largely online, encouraging women to display themed profile pictures, withdraw from economic activity, and observe a 15-minute standstill between 12:00–12:15 in solidarity with GBVF victims.

While physical participation is expected to be limited, isolated demonstrations are anticipated near Durban City Hall (Durban Central) and Rustenburg Central (North West).

Additional small-scale protests may occur near G20-related Points of Interest (POI), including OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) and the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre in Boksburg, due to the presence of international dignitaries.

  CONCLUSION

At present, both the 17 November demonstrations and the 21 November “G20 Women’s Shutdown” present low to moderate operational risks, primarily due to limited coordination and low expected turnout. However, situational awareness and proactive travel planning remain advised.

Ongoing monitoring is being conducted, and further updates will be distributed as new information becomes available.
